Uganda: Orange Sells iPhone 5

Orange Uganda has put the iPhone 5, one of the most sought-after smartphones in the world, on sale.

The iPhone 5 will be available at Shs 2.59m for the 16GB model and Shs 2.9m for the 32GB model at Orange Uganda retail stores at Garden City, Forest Mall, Kampala road and Clement Hill road. Orange says the iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever from the American company Apple. It has been completely redesigned to feature a new 4-inch Retina display, an Apple-designed A6 chip for fast performance, and ultrafast wireless technology--all while delivering better battery life.

The iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, the world's most advanced mobile operating system, with more than 200 new features.

"Orange, once again, would like to introduce the new iPhone 5 at the best price. We have gone an extra mile and bundled the iPhone 5 with clear-cut packages that add value to our customers," said Philippe Luxcey, the CEO Orange Uganda.

Orange is the only official distributor of the iPhone in Uganda and will sell the iPhone 5 with a six-month warranty.
