Zimbabwe: The Herald Posturing Disgusting

press release

The MDC and the people of Zimbabwe today read with dismay the cheap and unsubstantiated claims of a furore in the party by the Zanu PF mouthpiece, The Herald.

The purported furore over what the Zanu PF propaganda machinery refers to as "MDC -T poll conditions" is nothing but a figment of imagination in the State sponsored media and the whole charade is patently a CIO scheme aimed at causing confusion within the MDC.

The MDC internal systems with regard to candidate selection are guided by the party's Constitution and are clearly understood by our membership as articulated by the party leadership led by President Tsvangirai during the countrywide meetings with provincial councils last year.

The MDC is now geared for the elections, which it will have a landslide victory. As a party, the MDC will not be distracted by the obviously speculative, yellow journalism being practiced by the so-called public media, the ZBC and Herald, which operate as extensions of the Zanu PF's information department.

Nothing will derail the people's project in their last mile towards real transformation and a better life for all.
