Angola: Rain Kills Four, Over 300 Homes Destroyed in Chitembo

Chitembo — Four people died and 338 houses collapsed in December 2012 following a heavy rain that hit Chitembo district, 150 km south of the Kuito, capital of the central Bie province, announced the local official of civil protection commission, Celestina Nacomo.

The source said that the deaths caused by lightening, occurred in villages headquarters of Chitembo and Mumbwe, with two each, respectively.

The storm also made 338 families homeless, three schools and five churches collapsed in the localities of Mumbwe, Cachingues and commune headquarters of Chitembo.
