Angola: President Sets Up Commission to Enhance Historic Figures

Luanda — Angola's President José Eduardo dos Santos determined the setting up the Multisectoral Commission to implement the Enhancement and Dissemination project of Angolan Historical Figures nationwide.

According to a note from the Civil Office of the President released Thursday, the Commission has, among other competencies, to promote a national comprehensive study of historical figures.

It is also entrusted with publicising the achievements of the historical figures of the country, design the building of statues and monuments and propose honours and decorations of the historical figures of the country.

Coordinated by the Culture Minister, the committee also integrates representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Territory Administration, Education, Defence, Urban and Housing, Construction and Former Combatants and Motherland Veterans.
