Gambia: Scorpions Beat Gambian Champions Real

Gambia national team managed a 3-2 hard fought win over domestic league title defending champions Real De Banjul yesterday.

In a game held at the Goal Project in Yundum, Mancini team' defense fragility was again brought to the bare with Real De Banjul smashing in two goals past the Scorpions goalie.

Mancini's squad however ran out victors in the end with a slender 3-2 score line.

The match was a tough test for Real De Banjul who participated soon in CAF's biggest club competitions, the Champions League preliminary rounds.

Real De Banjul put up an exciting show even without coach Alagie Sarr in the dugout who, this paper confirms is hitherto undergoing a training course in Cairo, Egypt.

Gambian team comprising local based players are yet to lose a game since the start of their intense preparation on home soil.

But out of many arranged friendly matches for the Scorpions, their defense rigidity is a cause for Mancini to ponder ahead of the tie against Ivory Coast - a start packed elephant team stock packed of lethal goal scorers including Chelsea living legend Didier Drogba.
