Ghana: Kog Krationz Honours Tema Juvenile Football Organisers

A Tema-based events organiser, Kog Krationz, has honoured outstanding personalities in the just-ended Tema Metropolitan Juvenile Football League, which was put together by the Tema Metropolitan Juvenile Committee, for their exceptional performances.

The Overall Best Player for the league went to Master Jonah Osabutey of Great Ambassadors, who also emerged top-scorer of the league.

Coach James Lamina of Photizo Sports Academy was adjudged Best Coach for the league, and his club, Photizo Sports Academy, came out as the Best Club for the league.

Mr. Quainoo - Chairman of the Tema Metropolitan Juvenile Committee, was presented with a Special Award for his contribution towards juvenile football in Tema.

Kog Krationz later threw a party for the players and officials of the various clubs making up the Tema Metropolitan Juvenile Committee after the awards programme, which was sponsored by Multi Pro Private Limited, producers of Indomie Noodles.

Speaking in an interview with the Tema File, Mr. Oscar Mawuli Nuwati, General Manager of Kog Krationz, said this is the first of its kind to be organised for the Tema colts side.

According to him, his outfit was organising the event for the Tema Juvenile Metropolitan Committee, which has about 1,000 kids, in the under 12, 14 and 17 categories.

"We realised that it was better for us to do this, because these kids are our future in terms of football, since Tema is noted for producing great talents to feed our national teams, and you can mention the number of players from Tema who have emerged on the international platform," he said.

He, however, lamented that there had been a serious decline in the Tema local football scene, saying, "We think it's high time we invigorate it to help produce more quality players for the country.

"We are coming in with a sponsorship package, hopefully this year, and we are trying to bring some people on board to help revive the colts' league in Tema," he declared.

Mr. Nuwati observed that this was why they started by organising this awards night for the league, which ended just a few days ago, and took the opportunity to award the clubs and deserving personalities, saying, "This is to motivate the organisers and players to give out their best."
