Angola: Diarrhea Outbreak Hits Kixoto Village

Dondo — A diarrhea outbreak coupled with vomiting is ravaging since 03 January the locality of Kixoto in Massangano commune, Kambambe district, northern Kwanza Norte province.

According to the communal administrator of Massangano, Xavier Augusto Domingos, six cases have been reported since the emerging of the outbreak, which has killed one person.

Xavier Domingos said it is believed that the outbreak may have been caused by consumption of untreated water the residents fetch from Lucala river.

Meanwhile, the local health officials assured the existence of medicine to respond to the situation.
