Rwanda: All Set for Imbuto Karate Malaria Finals

After traversing five districts around the country with the preliminary and knockout rounds, the finals of the inaugural Karate Malaria tournament will be played this Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The tournament has been g organised by the Rwanda Karate Federation with support from Imbuto Foundation with the main objective to fight against malaria in the country.

Imbuto Foundation injected Rwf11.5 million into the tournament, which started last weekend.

The fighters will vie in Kumite and Kata categories in both men and women. The winner will walk away with Frw300, 000; second place Frw250, 000, and second runner-up Frw200, 000, while fourth placed kicker will get Frw150, 000.

In the individual category; the winner will get Frw75, 000, runner-up Frw50, 000, third place Frw25, 000 for both women and men.

The tournament was held in Nyanza, Bugesera, Rubavu, Nyagatare, Rwamagana and will end on Sunday in Gasabo districts.

Participation teams include Musanze, Nyamagabe, APR, Police, Samourai, Hantei and Kensei. Others are National University of Rwanda, Mamaru, Kaisho, Ippon and Aigle.
