Kenya: Cord Wants Wanjiru to Drop Bid for City Governor

RAILA Odinga's Cord alliance now wants Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru to drop her bid for the Nairobi governorship.

The alliance instead wants Wanjiru to run for Nairobi senator or women's representative.

Bishop Wanjiru has come under immense pressure to seek an alternative seat to contest other than the governor. Sources have said Wanjiru has been told that the controversy over her academic qualifications may make it hard for her to successfully run for the position.
