Kenya: Kuppet Tells Off MPs Over Laws

Kuppet has lashed out at MPs for scrapping degree requirements for parliamentary aspirants.

Speaking to the Star yesterday, Union secretary general Akello Misori said the move by legislators is selfish and shameful and does not apply to the current Kenya.

"Today's society needs leaders who are able to formulate legislations that will move the nation forward. We do not want to be led by illiterate individuals who cannot articulate or understand issues of the day," he said.

He said it is shameful for MPs to mutilate the constitution for their own personal preservation.
