Tunisia: Marzouki and Jebali Stress Need for Consensus On Roadmap for Next Political Processes

Carthage — Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki and Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali stressed, at a working meeting held Friday, the need to reach real compromises with all political players to establish a national dialogue.

According to a Presidency statement, "this dialogue should end up with the adoption of a clear roadmap that sets the next political deadlines, including the completion of the Constitution and the next elections."

The meeting gave way to an exchange of views on the Cabinet reshuffle which, according to Messrs. Marzouki and Jebali should be made on the basis of visions and programmes that take into consideration the challenges of the transition stage.

These programmes should focus on mechanisms likely to help settle the socio-economic issues faced by Tunisians as well as ways to combine all attributes of success of the democratic transition process.
