Ghana: Afcon 2013 - Coach Appiah Dismisses Fears

Coach Kwesi Appiah of the Ghana Black Stars has revealed that Anthony Annan had picked up an injury during a friendly being played with the Pharaoh's.

The midfielder was withdrawn after 25 minutes into the start of the pre-Nations Cup warm up match at the Zayed Sports Complex in Abu Dhabi against the Pharaohs after landing awkwardly following a tackle.

He was replaced by Derek Boateng.

But minutes after the game which Ghana won 3-0, the Black Stars coach confirmed that Annan's ankle problem was not too serious as feared initially.

It is not a big deal as been speculated, "He didn't land well but according to the doctor, it's not a big deal. He should be up training on Friday or the next day."

Annan will be making his fourth appearance for the Afcon this year.
