Africa: Thumbs Up Africa Blog 14 - Hello, Cape Town!

This past October, we started our hitchhiking trip from Groningen with a cardboard reading Kaapstad (echt waar). That's Dutch for "Cape Town (no joke)".

And after travelling for over three months, here we are. We hitched rides on 147 vehicles in 17 different countries spread over two continents. We covered 25,000 kilometres.

To name just a few of a thousand highlights, we saw the aftermath of the Arab spring, survived the heat of the Sudanese desert, dealt with a huge hangover in Kenya, joined a Zimbabwean anti-poaching unit and celebrated New Year's in the surreal Namibian town of Luderitz.

To all the people who made this possible, all the people we met and all the people we will meet soon: thank you so much! It was amazing.
