Getting a pap smear could help in detecting ovarian cancer, one of the most dangerous forms of cancer in women. Scientists have discovered that the method can detect both uterine and ovarian cancer, since screening for the two is currently unavailable. The study has been published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.
