Tunisia: Official Flag-Raising Ceremony At Kasbah Square On Second Anniversary of Revolution

Kasbah — On the 2nd anniversary of the Revolution for Freedom and Dignity, an official flag-raising ceremony was held, on Monday morning at Kasbah square in Tunis, with attendance of Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki, Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali and Constituent Assembly Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar.

The three Presidents saluted the flag as the national anthem was performed and reviewed a detachment of the three armies paying them honours .

The ceremony was attended notably by government members, leaders and delegates of political parties, including Ennahdha Movement leader Rached Ghannouchi and Nidaa Tounes President Beji Caid Essebsi, as well as the Army Chief of Staff, the Governor of Tunis and some political figures.

In a statement to the press, Hamadi Jebali expressed hope that the drafting of the Constitution will record a significant progress ahead of next elections.
