South Africa: Mini-Bus Accident Claims Seven Lives in Mpumalanga

Seven people have died following an accident that happened today, 14 January 2013 at about 4h30.

The accident happened when a mini-bus that was travelling from the direction of Heidelberg towards Balfour on R23 overturned following a tyre burst that led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.

Nine people were seriously injured and they were rushed to Heidelburg and Balfour hospitals.

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe is sending condolences to the bereaved families and is wishing those who were injured a speedy recovery.
