Angola: Interior Ministry Pledges Commitment to Documents Clearing

Luanda — The Angolan Ministry of Interior (MININT) will soon endeavour to meet the deadlines for the delivery of applications for documents like passports, visas, drivers licence, car registration as well as response to those applied for by nationals and foreigners.

This was said by the Interior minister Ângelo de Barros Veiga Tavares while addressing the opening of MININT Broad Consultative Council taking place in Luanda from Monday.

The minister on the occasion said that the Migration and Foreigner Service (SME) has altered the procedures in the control of passengers on inter-provincial flights, making them similar to those used for international flights.

The meeting closing on Monday is tackling such topics as crime, illegal immigration, disarming of civilians in possession of weapons, budget management in 2013 and the role of inspection organs.

Road accidents situation, their causes and consequences, public order situation and need to improve the skills of the staff to manage natural disasters will also be addressed at the meeting.
