Uganda: Nine Beheaded in Rakai

Grief has engulfed residents of Kyebe village in Rakai district after 9 people were brutally murdered by unknown assailants on Sunday night.

Police headed by the Regional Police Commander, Simon Peter Wafula have launched investigations into the tragedy which has left district authorities and residents in shock.

The dead have been identified as Pastor Steven Mugambe of Kyebe Pentecostal church and his wife Noreen Nakirya in whose home the misfortune occurred.

Others were their relatives who had spent a night at their home. Bena Nakivumbi a teacher of Kyabuzala Junior School in Kayunga district, an 80-year old woman Maria Nakajugo, Jane Nakiwala a business woman of Jinja Industrial area, Christine Nasimbwa a resident of Kyakatebe in Bukomansibi and Max Nakirya of Kibinge in the same district.

Three more people are yet to be identified. The attackers took off with an Ipsum vehicle.
