Zimbabwe: Veteran Broadcaster Sam Sibanda Dies

State media reported this weekend that veteran Radio 2 broadcaster Sam Sibanda died early Sunday morning at his home in Chitungwiza.

Sam is one of those broadcasters who could truly be described as a veteran, having joined Rhodesia Broadcasting in 1975. After independence in 1980 he became popular for his early morning show which highlighted his sense of humour.

Mourners are gathered at Number 12585, Unit N in Chitungwiza and Sam will be buried in Zvishavane, his rural home, on Tuesday.

He is survived by his wife, two children and two grand children.
