Luena — At least six people died and 13,248 were left homeless in Eastern Moxico province, following the heavy rains in the region, over the last days, says the spokesman of the provincial commission of civil protection, Domingos Roque Jacinto.

The official said so during a meeting of the mentioned commission, chaired by the ProvincialGovernor, João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade", adding that the figures are provisional ones, because the research continues.

The situation is due to the collapse of 2,365 residences and 13 schools. Attended the meeting the Deputy Provincial Governors, Municipal Administrators, as well as members of the local staff.
