A 17-year-old boy was arrested at Rehoboth on January 9 after he allegedly beat Pombili Twelimangulula Shakelange (23) to death.

The suspect and the deceased were allegedly drinking together in the Block E residential area when they started quarrelling and then started fighting. The suspect then allegedly beat Shakelange with a knobkierie.

According to the police, the suspect then stole the deceased's firearm, two cellphones and a pair of shoes.

Another case of murder is being investigated at Rehoboth after the body of Gert Bikeur (34) was found next to a shop in the town's Block B residential area on January 9.

The police say his body was found in a pool of blood with a stab wound in his neck.

It is alleged that he was followed by a white Isuzu bakkie with three men inside. The men allegedly beat and stabbed Bikeur and left his semi-naked body behind. No arrests have yet been made.
