For his part, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas commended the Tunisian people who celebrate the second anniversary of the Revolution, voicing consideration for Tunisia's permanent support to the Palestinian cause.

The United Nations upgraded Palestine to Non-Member Observer State Status, Mr. Abbas reminded, "which will help it set its borders and reassert that the lands occupied in 1967 are Palestinian lands," emphasising that "the present and the coming colonies are totally illegal."
