Tunisia: NCA Speaker Meets With Algerian, Moroccan and Egyptian Parliament Speakers

Bardo — Speaker of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Mustapha Ben Jaafar conferred, Monday in Bardo, successively, with Speaker of the Algerian People's National Assembly Abdelkader Ben Salah, Speaker of the Moroccan Parliament Karim Ghellab and President of the Egyptian Shura Council Ahmed Fahmi.

During these meetings, Mr. Ben Jaafar made an outline of the progress of the NCA works, particularly drafting of the new constitution.

He stressed the "commitment of all NCA members, regardless of their political affiliations, to reach a consensus so as to draft a Constitution that meets the ambitions of the Tunisian people and achieves the objectives of the Revolution," said an NCA statement.

Speakers of the Algerian, Moroccan Egyptian parliaments expressed their strong commitment to deepening consultations and channels of dialogue between their legislative institutions and the NCA to serve the interests of Maghreb and Arab peoples, added the same source.
