Zambia: PF Dismisses Vote Buying Allegations

THE Patriotic Front (PF) has accused opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) of exhibiting a defeatist attitude by raising false alarm of vote buying in the Mpongwe by-election.

PF media and publicity director Chanda Mfula said in a statement that the opposition party's defeatist attitude had always made it perform poorly in elections.

"It is understandable that after realising that they have no presence on the ground, the UPND has again resorted to the usual media cacophony, a strategy that has failed to work in their favour in the past," he said.

Mr Mfula challenged the UPND to avail the country with evidence of the vote buying and that the PF was on firm ground in Mpongwe where victory is a certainty.
