Somalia: Security Operations Underway in Wadajir District in the Capital

Mogadishu — Somali security forces are conducting large security operations in Wadajir district in south west of the capital. Both the Somali national police and the secret police are seen at the major intersections in the district, according to locals.

The operation has begun earlier this morning and a lot suspects have been detained so far.

This security in Wadajir district comes a day after security forces detained more 400 persons in Heliwaa district in north east of the city.

Security officials say that such operations are intended to secure the city and flush out suspected Al Shabab members who may still hide among the population.
