President Mwai Kibaki has signed into law the Presidential Retirement Benefits Amendment Bill, a bill that will see him get 25 million shillings as a send-off package as well as other retirement benefits including an entertainment allowance of 280 thousand shillings each month.

This move comes barely a week after he rejected a hefty send off package for MPs. The bill is among 30 bills signed into law by the president yesterday.
