Kenya: Magarini to Build College for Teachers

Kilifi county will soon have a teachers' training college after the education department received Sh1.5 million from Magarini CDF kitty.Magarini MP Amason Kingi said the money will help the education department start building a college for training teachers.

Kingi said the college will reduce help produce teachers for the county."We have no government training college and that is why we have set aside some funds for this venture," said Kingi.

Addressing the public in Kaembeni in Magarini where the college will be built, he said the college will enable secondary leavers study there.

Kingi, who is running for the Kilifi county governor encouraged students to work hard to remain competitive with other regions.

"This project that will start very soon will enable those people who have interest to join colleges but are hindered by distance. Our region has not been performing so well but we think that they will now be motivated now that the facility will be set here," he said.

Meanwhile, over Sh5 million has been set aside for building and repairing of different schools in the area.
