Uganda: Mulwana Burial for Wednesday

One of Uganda's leading businessmen, Dr James Mulwana, is dead.

Reports said Mulwana died from stomach complications in the wee hours of Tuesday. He is understood to have passed at Nakasero hospital, from where he was transferred to Case Medical Centre on Buganda road.

He is survived by three children. Mulwana will be buried tomorrow, Wednesday, at Masiriba, Busunju, on the Kampala-Hoima road.

A Vigil will take place tonight at Masiriba, where the body was being taken this afternoon.

Mulwana owned and ran various businesses in battery manufacturing, dairy processing, plastics and consumer products. Among other positions, he was a chairman or member of boards of various firms.

Standard Chartered bank, where he was a non-executive chairman, today held a press conference, at which they praised Mulwana as a hardworking man.
