Gambia: D500, 000 Bail for Negligent Driver

Principal Magistrate Hilary Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates' Court on Monday 14th January 2013 granted bail to one Ama Jallow, a driver, in the sum of D500, 000 with two Gambian sureties. The accused is charged with the offence of rash and negligent driving causing death, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of offence the accused on or about 11th January 2013 at Sanyang village in Kombo South District, West Coast Region,drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 2123H in a rash and negligent manner, causing the death of one Ousman Bah, thereby committed an offence.

When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail accordingly. The case was adjourned to 30th January 2013.
