Nigeria: Commuters Groan Over New FCT Mini Bus Policy

A large number of commuters were seen trekking on Sunday afternoon to Wuse Zone 6 "Abuja" due to a new policy by the FCT Administration banning the activities of commercial mini-buses to the area.

Also, commercial motorcycles were banned in satellite towns such as Karu, Pegi, Jikwoyi, Kurudu and Nyanya, among others to pave way for the restriction, which made commuters stranded as such areas were not prone to commercial vehicles. Some cyclists, who were taken unaware by the action, had their bikes impounded by armed soldiers under Karu Bridge and Jikwoyi road.
