Kachiungo — The deputy governor of central Huambo province for technical affairs and infrastructure, Kalunga Francisco Zagi Quissanga, announced that 300 of the 13,600 houses planned for high medium and low income people will be handed over in February this year.
The official was speaking during a visit to the works underway on the Government's land reserves in the municipalities of Ukuma, Tchicala-Cholohanga ando Kachiungo, under a programme designed to improve the living of the people.
"I am happy with the level of execution of the works, as expected quality is guaranteed, hence the expectation for the hand-over in February this year, fully accomplished, mainly in the municipalities of Huambo, Ukuma, Tchicala-Cholohanga, Kachiungo and Londuimbali that present an advanced stage of completion," said Kalunga Quissama.
According to him, the provincial Government will punish those contractors that fail to meet the terms.
A total of 13,600 houses will be built on the Government land reserves of the municipalities of Huambo (5,000), Caála (4,000) and Bailundo (3,000), while the other eight municipalities will get 200 houses each.
