Egypt: Official Heads for Abu Dhabi for Egyptian-UAE Consular Committee

Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Ali el-Ashri left Cairo on Tuesday 15/1/2013 for Abu Dhabi, leading Egypt's delegation to the second session of the Egyptian-UAE consular committee.

In pre-departure statements, Ashri said he will attend the meeting on behalf of the ministries of interior, manpower, education and health, noting that Egypt hosted the first session of the committee in January 2011.

The committee, at its meeting, will discuss the issue of Egyptian detainees in the United Arab Emirates, Ashri said, adding the UAE will be asked to provide all the circumstances and reasons behind their detention.
