Gambia: Tujereng Assistant Coach - We Fail to Utilize Our Scoring Opportunities

Following his side's 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to Banyaka in the semi final, which resulted in their exit from the 2012-2013 Kombo South District Football Tournament at the weekend.

The assistant coach of Tujereng, Manbuna Jammeh, said his side was eliminated from the tournament due to luck, adding that the side has played extremely well and created several goal-scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on their limited goal scoring opportunities.

Jammeh stated that his side dominated ball possession and created astonishing goal-scoring chances but finishing was not very good and luck was not on their side considering the chances his side had created.

Jammeh further stated that Tujereng and Banyaka are not far from each other and the players know each other very well, which make the game very tough, noting that Banyaka were defending throughout the entire game and relied on counter attacks.

According to Jammeh, they have accepted the result in good faith and will go back to the drawing board and prepare for next year.

He also seized the opportunity to thank his players for their commitment during the tournament.
