Somalia: New University Opens in Mogadishu

Somali International University opened in Mogadishu on Monday (January 7th) with a ceremony attended by teachers, students and Somali government officials, Somalia's Shabelle Media Network reported.

Dean Ismail Ali Said encouraged Mogadishu's young people to focus on education during this period in Somalia's development, emphasising that education moves societies forward.

Somali International University is one of several new higher education institutions opening in Mogadishu as security improves in the city.
