Djibouti Apprehends Illegal Yemeni Fishing Boats

Djibouti's coast guard last week apprehended several Yemeni boats fishing illegally in the Godoria waters, Djibouti's La Nation reported Tuesday (January 1st).

The coast guard found rare species of fish aboard the boats during a routine inspection and arrested the fishermen, who were arraigned in court. Their boats are being held at the port while their case is decided.

The seized fish were distributed to residents of the Daryel nursery and patients at the Paul Faure medical centre.

In the past year, the coast guard has apprehended more than 100 Yemeni boats fishing illegally, the official news agency reported.
