Somalia: Dozens Arrested in Himan and Heeb Security Sweep

Security officers in Somalia's Himan and Heeb region arrested dozens of people in an operation in Adado district Tuesday (January 8th), UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.

About 30 people were arrested in connection with various incidents across the region, said area security chief Elmi Kulane Ali. Those cleared of wrongdoing were later released.

The operation followed a recent spike in insecurity in Adado, Ali said, adding that two suspects were still in custody and will appear in court soon.
