Nigeria: Kaduna Govt. Disburses N410 Million to Victims of 2011 Post-Election Violence

Kaduna State Government on Wednesday in Kaduna disbursed N410 million to the victims of the 2011 post- election violence in the state.

Disbursing the cheques to the victims, Gov. Mukhtar Yero, however, ordered the victims to vacate the refugee camps.

Yero regretted that many lives and property were lost during the April, 2011 post-election violence in the state and urged the people to embrace peace.

"It was indeed very sad that people who had lived together peacefully for decades or even centuries suddenly turned against one another.

Yero appealed to victims at various displaced camps to return to their homes and urged the residents in the state to embrace peace.
