The Acting Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Mr Willies Mchunu today led all members of the Provincial Executive who spread out to all corners of the Province to monitor the first day of the year's schooling calendar.

Mchunu paid a surprise visit to schools in the Zululand District, where he found teachers and learners ready for the academic year.

He also used the visit as an opportunity to congratulate schools who performed well last year and encouraged learners, especially those in matric, to focus in their studies.
