Nigeria: Arepo - NSCDC Gets More Arms to Fight Vandals

The Ogun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) would be provided with more fire arms to fight vandals at Arepo where some NNPC pipelines are located.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta by the command's spokesman, Mr Kareem Olanrewaju.

It said the Deputy Commandant-General in-charge of Operations, Mr Evans Ewurum, has authorised the deployment of more arms to Ogun and Lagos commands.

The statement said other logistics had been deployed in support of the two states to ensure effective crusade against vandals.

"The fight against vandals is not a child's play, that is why the Corps is giving it all it takes and we shall fight to the last.

"It is going to be a fierce battle between them (vandals) and us (NSCDC) ; we shall fight them effectively with our might, there will be no respite.

"We are informing them in advance to relocate to another country as we will no longer allow them to hibernate at this place anymore," the statement said.

It said the Olu of Arepo, Oba Solomon Oyebi, had also promised to provide a befitting accommodation for use of the corps' officials.
