Nigeria: INEC to Conduct State House of Assembly Bye - Election in Kano

Kano — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plan to conduct bye election into the vacant seat of Gaya and Garko in the Kano state House of Assembly February 2.

Addressing reporters in Kano on Wednesday, state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abdullahi Danyaya stated that the steps became necessary following a notice from the Speaker of Kano House of Assembly declaring the position vacant.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner revealed that the stakeholders in the upcoming election have approved the aforementioned date during a meeting with the electoral body in Kano.
