Kaduna — Southern Kaduna Progressive Youth Movement has warned that the inability of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna to reserve the office of the state chairman of the party to the zone will aid opposition parties in taking over the state in 2015. The group said the Kaduna State government's and PDP's hasty decisions have already sent a signal that PDP will die in 2015.

"The normal tradition has been that whenever the governor comes from the Northern Part, his deputy and the SSG always comes from the South. All actions and decisions so far taken in the governance of Kaduna state; Kaduna state is bleeding, we must try as much as possible not to make it anaemic," the group in a press conference addressed by its National President Caleb Samuel Abbott said.

While attributing the arrest of the Kaduna state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker arrest to the present politics in the state, the progressives said that the action by the Kaduna state government is a wakeup call to all southern Kaduna people wherever they are, to team up and push against all retrogressive elements mortgaging and betraying the peoples and the land of Southern Kaduna.

"By this, we will embark on an in-depth campaign to enlighten our people on the course and plan of action to chart. It is pertinent to mention that we are ready as a movement to provide that lead-way that will guide us across the perilous threshold we find ourselves in today."

The group insisted that key positions in the state are skewed in favour of certain parts of the state only. "Why is there no Southern Kaduna indigene occupying any of these offices like the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Chief Detail, Aide De Camp (ADC), Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Secretary to the State Government, Director General, Media, Director, Finance/Account, Government House, Director Admin/Supply, Government House, Transport Officer, Government House, Chief Driver, Government House,?" the group asked.
