Gambia: Two Arraigned for Attempting to Commit Unnatural Offence

Two persons in Assan Mballow, a Gambian, and Allan Hughes, a Briton, were on Wednesday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Sheriff Tabally. The duo are charged with attempt to commit an unnatural offence, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of the offence stated that the accused persons on the 14th of January 2013 at Kerr Serign, attempted to commit an unnatural offence, and were found playing with each other's private parts, with the intent to satisfy their sexual desires, thereby committed an offence.

They both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of D100, 000 with two Gambian sureties. Cadet Inspector Kanteh represented the IGP. The case was adjourned to 23rd January 2013.
