South Africa: Minister Nxesi Welcomes the New Director-General

The Honourable Minister of Public Works Mr Thulas Nxesi has extended a warm welcome to the department's newly-appointed Director-General, Mr Mziwonke Dlabantu.

The Cabinet confirmed the appointment of Mr Dlabantu in December last year. On Tuesday, 15 January 2013, he assumed his new position.

Minister Nxesi says he is confident that Mr Dlabantu will help bring stability to the Top and Senior Management echelons of the department. "His leadership will also play a central role in steering the department towards compliance, improved performance and good corporate governance," said the Minister.

The Minister has also expressed gratitude to the former acting director-general, Ms Mandisa Fatyela-Lindie and other managers for providing leadership and guidance during the interim period.
