Nigeria: 'NBS Report On Sokoto Politically Motivated'

Sokoto — The National Bureau of Statistics' rating of Sokoto as poorest was politically motivated and aimed at tarnishing the positive image of the state.

Sokoto State Commissioner for Local Governments and Community Development, Alhaji Faruk Malami stated this while speaking with journalists in Sokoto.

He said the NBS report was not factual. "Data must be factual, actual and relevant to the current realities"

Yabo stressed that the assessment does not correspond with the realities on the ground. He however expressed the commitment of the present administration to continue with its various programmes aimed at impacting positively on the lives of the people.

According to him, Governor Aliyu Wamakko led administration has done a lot to better the lots of the citizenry and that the government would continue to do more.
