Angola: All Set for Beginning of School Year - Ministry

Sumbe — The Angolan Education minister, Mpinda Simão, Thursday in Sumbe, central Kwanza Sul province, said all is in place for the start of the 2013 school year on February 1.

Speaking to the press, Mpinda Simão added that 15 days for the formal opening of the 2013 academic year, all instructions have been transmitted to school managements.

According to the minister, the 2013 academic year will count on the service of 18,000 new teachers who were recruited in the second semester of 2012.

He added that the programme of distribution of school manuals is underway and will have reached all provinces by the end of this month.

The official also stated that the school schedule has been released and the schools are about to release the lists and form the classes.
