Nigeria: Fire Guts Offices At Kwara Poly

Ilorin — A midnight inferno yester-day razed down some offices in Kwara State Poly-technic, Ilorin.

The fire which started around 1:30am affected some offices in the Directorate of Students' Services. Daily Trust gathered that about five rooms were affected in the incidence which destro-yed important records and documents.

Rector of the Polytech-nic, Alhaji Mas'ud Elelu confirmed the incidence in a chat with newsmen, disclosing how-ever that no life was lost. He said he could not determine the extent of damages, adding that investi-gation is ongoing to unravel the cause of the fire.

According to him, the incident would not dis-turb academic activities on campus, saying first semes-ter examination would commence next week.
