Angola Invited to Join Parliamentary Forum of Great Lakes Region

Luanda — The Angolan National Assembly last Wednesday, in Luanda, was invited to join the Parliamentary Forum of the Great Lakes Region, in its capacity as member state of this zone of the African continent.

The invitation was made by the secretary-general of the Parliamentary Forum of the Great Lakes Region, Higero Prosper, during a meeting he held with the second deputy Speaker of the Angolan National Assembly (Parliament), Joana Lina.

Higero Prosper said to the press that it is important that Angola join the mentioned forum, in its capacity as member state of the Great Lakes Conference.

In view of this, he explained, the Angolan National Assembly was invited to participate in the conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of the Great Lakes Region, set to happen on 22-24 January in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Higero Prosper explained that he analysed with Joana Lina the activities of the Parliamentary Forum of the Great Lakes Region, as well as matters related to the International Conference on the Great Lakes.
