Egypt: El-Azhari - Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Is Fully Paid Holiday

Minister of Manpower and Immigration Khaled el-Azhari said that Prophet Muhammad's birthday, which falls this year on Thursday, January 24, is considered a fully paid holiday for employees of the public and private sectors. In a press release on Wednesday 16/1/2013, el-Azhari urged all labor directorates to follow-up implementing this public holiday.

The birth of Prophet Muhammad was on Rabi' al-Awwal 12, the third month on the Islamic calendar. Muslims around the globe celebrate that day annually.
