Eritrea: Haikota Residents to Enhance Support for Families of Martyrs

Haikota — The residents of Haikota semi-urban center, Gash-Barka region, expressed readiness to enhance support for families of fallen heroes.

Among the residents, Ms. Nebiat Habtom, Mr. Abed Gebrai and Haj Idris Abubeker indicated that the residents are engaged in building residential house for the family of a martyr. They also said that the process gives rise to moral satisfaction.

Mr. Hamd Yusuf, Administrator of Haikota sub-zone, explained that the inhabitants extended goats backing 42 families of martyrs last year, while labor assistance was provided to others in 12 Administrative areas during the process of rain-fed farming. He further pointed out that the community-based initiative has been nurtured to the young generation.

Ms. Ogbamariam Aila, beneficiary of the current benefit, expressed satisfaction with the inhabitants' care, and asserted that such support attests to the citizenry's readiness of honoring the trust of fallen heroes.
