The Uganda Olympics committee (UOC) will, on January 26, hold their meeting to endorse their new constitution.
This will pave way for the UOC presidential elections expected to be held in March. William Blick has been the UOC acting president since July 2012 after Rogers Ddungu was deposed for maladministration.
Ddungu was ejected from his post on a technicality which was enforced through a vote of no confidence from the members of the UOC, who include national sports federations.
Blick is expected to contest for this position in full capacity too. In addition, sources say Dr James Sekajugo, a member of the Crane rowing club in Garuga, intends to vie for the position of chairman at the National Rowing Association. And by extension, the UOC presidency position too.
